The Delphos Canal Museum hosted a discussion with three World War II veterans Sunday, with the hope of preserving a piece of American history.
āWe just want to preserve those memories as much as we can,ā said Bob Ebbeskotte, a museum board member.
The men, who all live in Delphos, served in all different branches of the military but all remembered when the atomic bombs were dropped and where they were when the war ended.
Art Grothouse, who enlisted in the Army Air Forces in December 1941, was in Okinawa, Japan, when the atomic bombs were dropped.
āEverything ceased and I came home from Okinawa,ā he said, adding that he got out of the 
service on Nov. 11, 1945.
