Okinawa, a subtropical island off the southern coast of Japan, hosts visitors from all over the world for amazing white sand beaches and crystal-clear water. The island is filled with historical attractions, culture and fun things to do.

For Americans, Okinawa means much more. While the US military has a huge footprint across Japan, Okinawa has the most concentrated US military presence. The island is a strategic location for the US Armed Forces.

Among the US Air Force bases in the Asia-Pacific region, Kadena Air Base on Okinawa is the largest one. It has more options for soldiers to enjoy fun in the sun and the ocean as well. Here are some spots to unwind and recharge when you are around Kadena Air Base.
