CARMEL, Ind. – TCC, one of the nation’s largest Verizon Authorized Retailers, announces today its sponsorship of Honor Flight Network trips from Michigan, Illinois, Washington and Pennsylvania in recognition of Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
The mission of the Honor Flight Network is to transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
The first of four Honor Flight trips sponsored by TCC departed from Three Rivers, Michigan, on Nov. 2, bringing more than 80 veterans to Washington, D.C. TCC funded trips for 10 veterans from the WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War eras.
“It is our honor to play a part in showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room LLC, parent company of TCC. “This initiative is just a small token of our gratitude for those who have served, and it means a lot to our entire organization to give veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades.”
In addition to sponsoring four Honor Flight trips, nearly 550 TCC stores nationwide will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Event from Nov. 9-11 to honor veterans for their service. The initiative, Veterans Rock, is just one of four annual philanthropic efforts led by TCC, a Culture of Good, Inc. company that makes ongoing investments in the local communities where it operates.
Earlier this year, TCC donated more than 140,000 backpacks with school supplies at TCC stores across the country and gave supply packs to more than 6,000 teachers across the U.S.
The company’s nonprofit organization, TCC Gives, recently surpassed $1.7 million in donations to local nonprofits across the country. Additionally, TCC’s newly announced program – Get10Give10 – is awarding $10,000 to a customer and $10,000 to a nonprofit of their choice each month. This initiative launched Nov. 1.
