Washington, D.C. – Today, Premier Solutions Hi., hosted a packed panel at the 930Gov conference entitled “Digital Transformation and Business Process Management: Examples of Secure, Fast and Simple Solutions.”
Taking center stage was a discussion on military waste, fraud and abuse. Panelists included Rob Hardisty, ECM workflow consultant and vice president at Premier Solutions Hawaii, and Chris Rinehart, knowledge manager at the Department of Defense, who examined new strategies for the military to utilize IT modernization to simplify the logistics process across critical supply lines and ensure records are properly documented, audit-ready and compliant with Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) regulations under the National Defense Authorization Act.
The panel, which was moderated by Mike Smoyer, president and founder of the Digital Government Institute, further discussed the trademark components of successful digital transformation initiatives, detailed the best practices for the military to implement and prepare leadership teams, software engineers and workforce professionals, and elevated the conversation on digital solutions that can combat evolving cases of fraud and waste while ensuring the security of our fighters logistical supply line.
“I’ve seen too many projects go over budget and over time,” said Christopher Rinehart, knowledge manager at the Department of Defense.
“Invest the time in your data dictionary, that should always be the first thing that you do. While it’s not sexy to do that, it’s always the most important thing to do,” he concluded.
One current solution the Navy uses is the Financial Audit Compliance Enhancement Tool (FACET) from Premier Solutions, Hi.
