Todayā€™s employment picture looks stronger than ever with unemployment at a 30-year low. In fact, there are more jobs than there are people to fill them today, but are the right people available for the right jobs?…

Tech Qualled, a sales training program for veterans, and predictive hiring leader Koru, researched how veterans compared to high performing sales professionals in IT. This yet to be released data uncovered very compelling results showing a higher incident of soft skills in veterans critical to sales success: ownership, grit and curiosity:

ā— 22% higher ownership than the national average and 4% higher than non-vet sales professionals

ā— 19% higher grit than the national average and 10% higher than non-vet sales professionals

ā— 7% higher curiosity than the national average and 10% higher than non-vet sales professionals in curiosity

These results indicate that not only can vets tackle todayā€™s most challenging sales roles, they may actually outperform experienced sales representatives. Companies including AWS, Cisco, DellEMC, Oracle, Click Soft, Microsoft and Payscale have tapped into this veteran talent pool and reduced sales role turnover by up to 25%.
