The holidays are a time of joy and celebration, but for some veterans in our area the excitement of the season can actually be scary.

Holiday activities can trigger anxiety for veterans, News Five spoke to a veteran who struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on a daily basis. He said the crowds, lights, and noise of the holidays can actually be terrifying.

“Truthfully I just kind of avoid the crowds,” said Vietnam Veteran, Carroll Remine. “There’s just triggers you know, about everyday of some form. The fireworks thing during some of the holidays, I try to avoid that.”
