Denver, Colorado ā€“ Soldiersā€™ Angels hosted a mobile food pantry on Friday, September 23 in the parking lot of the Denver VA Hospital located at 1055 Clermont Street, Denver, CO 80220. Over 200 low income veterans and their families were supported through the event, receiving 50 pounds of food each, including fresh fruits and vegetables. The pantry was conducted with partner agency, the Food Bank of the Rockies.

The veteran mobile food pantry event was started in 2015 near the Soldiersā€™ Angels headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. Within one year, the organization spread the program to several cities across the country, including: San Diego, California; Detroit, Michigan; Charleston, South Carolina, as well as Denver. With the help of the Denver VA, Soldiersā€™ Angels has arranged to continue the Denver event on a monthly basis.

ā€œWe are thrilled to be continuing this event for Denver area veterans on a monthly basis,ā€ said Amy Palmer, President and CEO of Soldiersā€™ Angels. ā€œThe program has had a huge impact for San Antonio veterans and we hope to have the same positive effect in Denver.ā€
