Chicago, Illinois – Throughout the month of August, Seagram’s Escapes and Chicago-area Jewel Osco stores partnered to support local veterans through Soldiers’ Angels. Displays of Seagram’s Escapes with Solider Angels point of sale drove awareness of the program with consumers. The total amount donated from Seagram’s was $2500. In addition to this generous donation, Jewel Osco matched the collected amount and donated $2500.

On September 8 at the Jesse Brown VA in downtown Chicago, Seagram’s and Jewel Osco presented Soldiers’ Angels with checks from the program totaling $5000. Although Soldiers’ Angels is a national organization, the money collected in Chicago will stay in Illinois to help support Soldiers’ Angels veteran programs at: Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, and Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center.

“A huge thank you to Seagram’s and Jewel Osco for their partnership in this program,” said Amy Palmer, President & CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “The work we do to support our nation’s veterans within the VA Health System has touched the lives of veterans from all eras. With the help of partnerships like this, we can continue our vision: May No Soldier Go Unloved.”

Soldiers’ Angels is one of the few nonprofit organizations approved to work within VA Hospitals and Medical Centers. VA Representatives and volunteers organize luncheons, special events, holiday celebrations and more to benefit patients within the VA facilities. In addition, the Box Lunch and Hygiene Kit programs provide food and hygiene items to homeless veterans through Stand Down events. Volunteers are always needed to assist in these programs.
