Florida Singer Tom Shed Sings About PTSD and Veterans

Florida’s own singer/songwriter Tom Shed announces the release of his fourth album, “Davey’s Cornet.” Produced by the artist and Nathan Smith, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with the world’s best musicians, this 12-track blend of Americana, Blues, and Country and Western takes the listener on a journey through “history, humor, and the human condition.”  Most of the songs are written and co-written by Tom; the artist covers local legendary songwriters Don Grooms and Will McLean, as well as the Stan Jones classic, “Riders in the Sky.”

Over the years, Tom Shed has made a name for himself as a tune smith who sings about real events. Music News Nashville aptly described his song list: “His choices go way beyond love songs, bringing to light social issues, as well as reveling in the wonders of life.”

The album’s title song, “Davey’s Cornet,” is a tribute to a World War I vet who found a brilliant way to deal with PTSD. It is a true story that follows one soldier through war time, going home, and his family’s reaction following his death.

Tom’s successful 2014 European tour led to concert and radio appearances, most notably on the BBC in Liverpool.

This November, to celebrate Veteran’s Day, Tom will tour VA hospitals throughout Florida in honor of Davey and all who serve.
