Floridaâs own singer/songwriter Tom Shed announces the release of his fourth album, âDaveyâs Cornet.â Produced by the artist and Nathan Smith, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with the worldâs best musicians, this 12-track blend of Americana, Blues, and Country and Western takes the listener on a journey through âhistory, humor, and the human condition.â Most of the songs are written and co-written by Tom; the artist covers local legendary songwriters Don Grooms and Will McLean, as well as the Stan Jones classic, âRiders in the Sky.â
Over the years, Tom Shed has made a name for himself as a tune smith who sings about real events. Music News Nashville aptly described his song list: âHis choices go way beyond love songs, bringing to light social issues, as well as reveling in the wonders of life.â
The albumâs title song, âDaveyâs Cornet,â is a tribute to a World War I vet who found a brilliant way to deal with PTSD. It is a true story that follows one soldier through war time, going home, and his familyâs reaction following his death.
Tomâs successful 2014 European tour led to concert and radio appearances, most notably on the BBC in Liverpool.
