Dr. Lawrence Kaminsky is one of the leaders in research at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. He’s working on a project that will eventually involve one million veterans from around the country.

ā€œNo one has tried to this on such a large scale before,ā€ Kaminsky said.

Right now, he’s encouraging Capital Region veterans to voluntarily give a blood sample, take a questionnaire, and grant access to their medical records. Researchers will then study the information to try and determine why people with certain genes, have certain health problems. The study has been dubbed the Million Veteran Program.
