A new program launched by ProMedica offers military veterans better access to health care.
The ProMedica Veteran Connection, established June 1, applies to all facilities connected to the Toledo-based health system, including Bixby and Herrick hospitals. It comes out of concerns for lengthy delays in care for veterans through Veterans Administration hospitals, which led to the VA creating the Veterans Choice program.
“This is the right thing to do,” ProMedica Veteran Connection program coordinator Elizabeth Pellow said of the creating this option.
