Local golf course hosts tournament to benefit veterans

Whether in the Maine Amateur, the Maine Open, or the Maine Women’s Amateur, plenty of talent has graced the state’s golf courses during the month of July. However, talent and competition were far from the main focus during a tournament in Orrington on Saturday.

Rocky Knoll Country Club hosted a golf tournament to benefit “House in the Woods,” an organization that offers veterans the chance to visit a retreat upon returning home. Paul House and his wife began “House in the Woods” in memory of their son’s sacrifice in the military.
