ā€œThe pen is mightier than the sword,ā€ goes the timeworn adage, and for two writing workshops in Waco this June, the pen may help those who have used the sword.

Veteran Writes, a project of Dallas-based The Writerā€™s Garret, will lead a weekly writing workshop for veterans and their spouses beginning Thursday at the Doris Miller Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Waco and ahire vets broader June 18 workshop and panel discussion, ā€œWriting as a Healing Practice,ā€ at the West Waco Library, 5301 Bosque Blvd.
