A defensive driving course specifically for veterans will be offered at SUNY Broome on April 16.

The course will focus in part on common traffic safety challenges faced by members of the military after they return from overseas deployments. It is open only to veterans.

It has been approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles as a Point & Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP), according to the Broome County STOP-DWI Program, which is hosting the event.

The course costs $5 and is aimed at reducing the number of veterans involved in motor vehicle accidents.hire vets

Veterans can register by calling the SUNY Broome Continuing Education Department at (607) 778-5012 or by signing up in person at the Continuing Education Office in Room 115 of the Wales Building on campus.
