A new program is helping military veterans with disabilities get to important medical appointments with free specialized transportation assistance.
It’s all thanks in part to some non-profits coming together. Ty Brennan explains. “Every Wednesday at 8am, at 7th Street these folks pick me up and take me down.”
Military veteran Donald Hansen receives a ride to his weekly doctor’s appointment.
He’s diabetic and blind; and he relies on these rides from the Veterans Transportation Assistance Program and the drivers from the quality transport.
“They come and pick me up with care, so it’s nice to be able to depend on somebody,” 
 Hansen says. Hansen says that rides used to be hard to come by, but not anymore thanks to two non-profits that came together.
