KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Maj. Heather Penney, U.S. Air Force.  On Sept. 11, 2001, Maj. Penney served as one of two F-16 combat pilots ordered to down hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 before passengers took control of the plane.

2015 VIGIANO FAMILY HOPE & COURAGE AWARD RECIPIENTS:

WHAT: Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring self, family and hope for post 9/11 service members, veterans and their families, will host more than 200 guests at its 6th Annual Got Heart, Give Hope Celebration, which honors women who inspire through service. The event includes a silent auction featuring a tabletop replica of the No Man Left Behind monument created by sculptor John Phelps, which brings to life the iconic image captured by war photographer Lucian Read. Full-size versions of the monument are at Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton.

WHO: The evening features emcee Angie Skinner, Keynote Speaker Maj. Heather Penney (USAF) and the presentation of The Vigiano Family Hope & Courage Awards to seven extraordinary women – service members and veterans, civilians and caregivers—focusing on the hope they symbolize through their remarkable stories and service.

WHY: Event proceeds will help Hope For The Warriors continue to provide comprehensive support programs focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement and connections to community resources to service members, veterans and their families around the country. Sponsors include Raycom Media, Altria, Plaza Construction, Siemens and Fisher House.
