Leland Summers, commander of the organization, said the confessed shooter in the Emanual AME Church massacre may have succeeded in starting a race war.
“That flag did not start a race war,” said Summers. “That idiot pulling a trigger on nine innocent people started a race war. Don’t try to convince me otherwise, because that dog won’t hunt.”
During the news conference, Summers said his organization, which has more than 3,000 members in SC, grieved with the families of the nine victims.
