On Dec. 22, Ken Bibee, Gary Brink and Ann Gee delivered socks to hospitalized veterans at the Veterans Health Care System in Ann Arbor – just in time for Christmas.

Socks are requested by the facility as many veterans have cold feet due to circulatory problems.

The volunteers are members of Moving Milan Forward that have been collecting for the past year beginning last January when member and former State Rep. Rick Olson was busy sending letters to corporations and sock manufacturers requesting donations or special pricing for bulk orders.

Originally an individual, who wished to remain anonymous, delivered 100 pair of socks he collected through donated monies from businesses and some MMF members. The organization decided to support that effort with a drive of their own.hire vets

Socks for both men and women were collected in a variety of styles. Special socks recommended for diabetics were included in the donation of 116 pairs of American-made socks.
