Soldiers’ Angels Collecting Holiday Cards & Stockings For Our Troops And Veterans

San Antonio, Texas (August 29, 2016) – Soldiers’ Angels is excited to announce the return of their Holiday Community Partners Program. This program collects and distributes stuffed holiday stockings to service members and veteran patients in VA Hospitals across the country. Individuals, civic groups, businesses, churches, schools, scouts, sororities and youth groups are encouraged to join the Holiday Community Partners Program and participate in the collection.

Those who sign up to become a Holiday Community Partner can commit to sending one stocking or many. Soldiers’ Angels will provide a list of approved items to be included in the stockings. Those who participate will collect the approved items, stuff them in the stockings, include a personal holiday greeting card or letter, and mail the completed stockings to a designated Soldiers’ Angels representative. Once collected, the donated stockings and cards will either be sent to deployed service members or handed out in person to veteran patients at one of the many VA Hospitals supported by Soldiers’ Angels nationally.

“This is an excellent opportunity for groups or businesses to give back to service members and veterans this holiday season,” said Amy Palmer, President and CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “The holidays can be an especially difficult time of year and this is just one small way we can let these brave men and women know that America remembers them during the holidays.”

In 2015, Soldiers’ Angels collected and distributed 4,300 stockings to service members and veteran patients. This year, the organization hopes to surpass the amount collected last year and meet their goal of collecting 4,500 stockings.

Soldiers’ Angels is accepting applications for the Holiday Community Partner Program through November 15, 2016 or until distribution capacity is reached. The filled stockings must be received by Soldiers’ Angels no later than December 11, 2016.
