COLUMBUS, OHIO – The seven Rolling Thunder chapters of Ohio and the National Veterans Memorial & Museum jointly announce 20 Rolling Thunder chapters from seven states will assemble at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus on the morning of 5/24/2020.

“What is sure to be a major event, one faithful to the history and traditions of Rolling Thunder, will draw riders from all over the Midwest and beyond. We are thrilled to host this gathering at this special place that honors all branches of Service over the course of all conflicts in our Nation’s history,” said General Micheal Ferriter, President of National Veterans Memorial & Museum.

“We are thrilled to announce the participation of those Rolling Thunder chapters who are on board and expect to announce many others in the near future,” said Ty Geiser, Ohio’s top Rolling Thunder officer. “Columbus will indeed be a destination next Memorial Day weekend for all who hold the memories of our fallen in their hearts.”

Rolling Thunder is an annual demonstration that, for the past 32 years, had been held in Washington, D.C.. However, after the 2018 announcement of Rolling Thunder no longer being held in the Nation’s Capital, volunteers and chapters for Rolling Thunder in Ohio have been working diligently to continue the Rolling Thunder traditions in Columbus, Ohio, the home of the only national memorial dedicated to Veterans in the country, National Veterans Memorial & Museum.

Funds raised in association with the demonstration will go towards supporting the memorial and additional local, regional, and national Veterans causes.
