Visit Veterans Memorial Museum of Southern West Virginia

If you enjoy military history and are looking for a rare FREE treat, check out this unique monument to the veteran spirit of the Mountain State. Located ten miles south of Interstate 64, this is West Virginia’s first and most extensive military museum. Exhibits highlight Frontier, Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I and II, Korea, Viet Nam, Gulf War, Iraq and & Afghanistan eras.

Displays contain military artifacts, memorabilia, weapons, photos and collections donated by regional veterans from every major American conflict. Of special interest are General Douglas McArthur’s footlocker, a vintage M151A2 Jeep and a World War II D-Day display.

Open each Saturday starting in May through November from 12:00 – 4:00pm. It is open year-round for private group tours (classes, civic groups, scouts, veterans, etc.) by special arrangement. Call 304-466-0116 or 304-434-4289 to schedule.
