The House vote defies President Trumpās anti-immigrant agenda.Ā Ā Mi Familia Vota issued the following statement:
āToday, we witnessed the best of our nation as years of hard work and advocacy- emanating from the immigrant community – culminated with the Dream and Promise Act being passed by the House of Representatives. Together, Dreamers, frontline advocacy organizations, allies in Congress, and our community reactivated the hope of the American Dream.
āOver two million immigrants have the opportunity to secure permanent relief and become American citizens through the Dream and Promise Act. President Trump has taken actions to remove protections from Dreamers, TPS, and DED holders, putting them at risk of deportation, and Congress has rebuked the administrationās anti-immigrant agenda through this historic vote. Our efforts to keep families together and our community intact will continue until our community gets the pathways to citizenship that we deserve.”
