CHARLESTON, SC (May 22, 2019) – The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation (https://mohmuseum.org/) today announced the formation of Links in the Chain (https://linksinthechain.mohmuseum.org/) , a new partnership between the museum and foundations and organizations around the country that are dedicated to honoring all those who served in our nation’s Armed Forces.

Inspired by an excerpt from Rear Admiral Ronald Arthur Hopwood’s “The Laws of the Navy,” * Links in the Chain will provide a platform for member organizations to work together, to remember our service members and inspire American values in future generations.

Links in the Chain founding member organizations include: the Navy SEAL Foundation (https://www.navysealfoundation.org/) , the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/) , the National Guard Association (https://www.ngaus.org/) , the Air Force Association (https://www.afa.org/) , the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) (https://www.vfw.org/) , Headstrong (http://getheadstrong.org/) , Team Rubicon (https://teamrubiconusa.org/) , the Special Forces Association (http://www.specialforcesassociation.org/) , the Semper Fi Fund (https://semperfifund.org/) and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (https://pva.org/) . The coalition will expand as additional members join the Chain.

“We are honored to join with these outstanding organizations and support their important work as we look to share the stories of our service members who received our nation’s highest honor,” said Joe Daniels, President and CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum and the former President & CEO of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. “We have a common mission – to share with all Americans the importance of patriotism and civic duty. This ongoing partnership will allow all participant organizations to join together and inspire others to remain united in support of our military, their families and remember the lasting legacy of the Medal of Honor.”

The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation has created a dedicated page on its website, MOHMuseum.org (https://mohmuseum.org/) , featuring hyper-linked-logos for all the participating organizations. Through Links in the Chain, the organizations will promote each other’s programs and activities, including on all social media platforms, to support and raise awareness.

The Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest and most prestigious military honor, has been awarded to more than 3,500 military service members since the first medal was presented in 1863. The National Medal of Honor Museum will offer an experience that draws personal and emotional connections to Medal of Honor recipients and their stories, while shedding light on the wars in which they fought and the ideals that the Medal of Honor represents. The Museum is currently conducting a targeted search for the best home, to inspire as many Americans as possible.
