Michael McCumber, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and independent filmmaker, has produced The Dark Resurgence: A Star Wars Fan Film, a fan film. To get it done, over the past two years he worked with a an all-volunteer cast and crew out of the San Diego area.
He made this film in addition to going to school full time for a Mathematics and Computer Science degree. He has submitted the film to 17 film festivals and the video is gaining more viewership online.
McCumber says “I believe the project may be a unique opportunity to inspire veterans to pursue the arts as it’s not an area typically covered in the veteran community”.
