My wife and I are veterans of the Vietnam War. We both served in the Republic of Vietnam during the 1968 Tet Offensive. Our dear neighbor, a member of Grace Baptist Church, invited us to a Vietnam Memorial Service provided by the children of Grace Christian Academy.

We both were humbled by the confidence, astuteness and display of patriotism shown by the children of Grace Academy. They articulated their lines with a great deal of confidence. The children executed their roles flawlessly and is an indicator of the many hours of preparation the staff and students must have put into the program.

Many tributes are paid to veterans of the military on Veterans Day, and I have had the privilege to attend several ceremonies over the years. However, in previous programs I never encountered the sincerity, warmth and friendliness displayed by the staff and students at Grace Academy. It is no wonder that Grace is a pillar of the community.
