While Jerral was serving in Iraq, his tank was hit by a roadside bomb. The attack left him paralyzed and without his left arm. But rather than letting his injuries define him, Jerral is fighting back with the help of the world’s most advanced prosthetic arm. He’s working with a team of researchers from Johns Hopkins to test the arm that could help Jerral and many other wounded vets like him take back their independence.

The video above captures Jerral learning how to control the world’s most advanced prosthetic arm with his mind. The technology is incredible — made by scientists at Johns Hopkins. This is one of the very first home visits where they take the prosthetic arm out of the lab and customize it to work in someone’s home environment.

As you’ll see in the video, Jerral is doing this because he wants to honor the soldiers who risked their lives to save him, be a better father and husband, and he also wants to help advance the research that will help many others too. What a hero.

This video is part of a six-episode Superhuman series about incredible breakthroughs in medical technology being produced by Freethinkmedia.com for the entire Superhuman series. The series has gotten 2 million views, so far.
