It’s sad and shameful that heroes who’ve served this country face despair when seeking help. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening right now; too many veterans experience bureaucratic nightmares and long waits for medical treatments. The good news is that people in New Hampshire are taking steps to improve veterans’ care.

Earlier this summer, the association that represents all hospitals in the state agreed to take part in the “Hospitals for Heroes” campaign. New Hampshire hospitals will provide care for eligible veterans and cover the costs, ensuring that veterans’ health care isn’t a nightmare. This is an honorable and proactive step toward making good on our nation’s promise to these heroes.
