Tomorrow, Monday May 23, local veterans plan to protest outside Trump Towers from 11:00AM to 12:00PM, calling on Donald Trump to apologize for failing to fulfill his long-held promise to donate the full $6 million to veteransā charity organizations. Recent news media reports show that Mr. Trump and his campaign have been lying about the total amount raised for our nationās veterans.

The latest revelations are only the latest evidence that Donald Trump’s does not honor his commitments to veterans, and his promises to treat veterans with respect are nothing more than lip service. He has insulted prisoners of war and later refused to apologize. He has demeaned our service members, referring to the US military as a ‘disaster.’ And he has signaled his support for privatizing the Department of Veterans Affairs, a move which is opposed by a majority of veterans.
According to protest organizer Alexander McCoy, “Donald Trump has proven himself to be a liar and a panderer who tries to exploit the goodwill American voters feel towards the men and women who served in uniform to hide the fact that he would be a dangerous and reckless Commander in Chief. If elected President, Donald Trump’s policies would make America less safe. Based on his broken promises, we cannot trust Trump to live up to our commitments to our nation’s veterans.”
