Mrs. Tracey Banaitis, the wife of an 82nd Airborne veteran, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on Dec 22, 2009. She has been battling the disease non-stop which has completely changed every aspect of her and her family’s life. She has been unable to work since just 6 months after the birth of their daughter, Zoey, in 2011.

While battling this disease, her husband has stood by her side every step of the way. Mr. Robert Banaitis has made sure to fulfill his wife’s every dream from having a child, seeing the Grand Canyon to driving cross-country in order to move to Arizona to try to help her odds.

Mr. Banaitis has not only saved her life in the past but has had to give up everything in order to help her and their young daughter who need his help 24/7. Tracey’s love and appreciation for her husband is unmistakable and knowing that her husband’s dream will never become a reality is devastating to not only her but her husband as well. They make it by with the love they share for one another and her disability income.

Robert has recently even started his own pet care business to help bring in income for the family and allow more time for him to be at home to help. However, there is nothing in this world Tracey would like more then to make her husband’s dream of flight through paramotoring become a reality.

Through her own hard work and dedication, Tracey has started a Go Fund Me page but unfortunately, her Go Fund Me campaign has gone no where fast as her disability has made social media and Facebook pretty obsolete for her. She was able to contact a paramotor company who is willing, out of the goodness of their heart and a pilot who works with them, to sell her a used motor for $500.

The paramotor through that same company will also need a new exhaust, propeller and shipping costs with was estimated to cost $1500. Mrs. Banaitis was also able to get in touch with a paramotor instructor who is trying to help her find a used glider for $2000.

The kindness of these people has truly touched Tracey’s heart. However, she knows that the reality of coming up with $4,000 is going to take her years and years. Tracey has also tried contacting some famous aviators and paramotorists like John Travolta, Harrison Ford, William Shatner, and Bear Grylls, but have not heard back from anyone.

She even wrote a hand written, 4 page letter which took her a month to write, to Bear Grylls which never actually got to Bear himself as she was just sent a typed note from a secretary saying good luck as well as an autographed photo.

There is nothing more in the world that Tracey wants then to make this dream for her husband become a reality. He served our country proudly and continues to care for his family day in and day out. Please take a moment to check out her Go Fund Me page

Any and all donations to Tracey’s cause would be greatly appreciated. Tracey would love to get her former Airborne soldier back into the sky that he loves so much!
