A court tailored to serving veterans who’ve run into trouble with the law could be available in the next few months, and a meeting to sort out plans for the court is scheduled Wedneday, officials said

In late Feburary, Rutherford County commissioners endorsed the pilot launch of a Veterans Court. The pilot Veterans Court will start out serving veterans who are participating in the county’s Drug Court and DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol) Court, officials said.

Trey King, coordinator for the courts, said after commissioners gave their blessing on the court that it’s only a mater of time before local veterans get the help they need.
