Rider University career fair connects veterans with potential employers

When Peter Reid was preparing to graduate from Rider University in 2013, his adviser encouraged him to go to the Veteran Career Fair and Military Expo.

There, he was recruited by an Army veteran to Northwestern Mutual and hasn’t regretted it since.

“I never thought that out of college, it’d be that easy to get a good career,” said Reid, 28, now a field director for the company.

For the past two years, he has returned the favor, coming back to campus to recruit veterans.hire vets

On Thursday, Rider hosted its third annual career fair, bringing together veterans and potential employers. By noon, a steady stream of men and women armed with their resumes had walked through the doors.
