Top Ten Movies to Watch on Veterans Day

top-10-movies-veteransAccording to Forbes magazine, they gave us the following list of movies saying they avoided just listing war films and instead they focused on movies about the experiences of veterans after the wars are ended and they came home.

So here is their list;

  1. Coming Home
  2. Born on the Fourth of July
  3. The Best Years of Our Lives
  4. The Messenger
  5. The Men
  6. The Deer Hunter
  7. Flags of Our Fathers
  8. Pride of the Marines
  9. Dogfight
  10. Heroes for Sale

Now, at VNN, we asked our resident VTN loyal contributor U.S. Gulf War Combat Veteran William Mabra SGT, 2/142nd FA U.S. Army/USNG what were his TOP 10 movies for Veterans Day.  And he went full war movie style.  Here’s his list;saving-private-ryan

  1. Saving Private Ryan
  2. We Were Soldiers
  3. Black Hawk Down (not really a vets day moive maybe but I like it)
  4. Full Metal Jacket (also not exactly vets day movie but I Dont Care)
  5. Flags of Our Fathers
  6. Legends of the Fall
  7. The Deer Hunter
  8. Coming Home
  9. When Trumpets Fade
  10. Born on the Fourth of July
