Bill Tippins, Former POW


Veteran Bill Tippins, in Air Force uniform,  at a recent Former POW functionIn February 1944, as part of the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion, the 20-year old PFC, Bill Tippins, was blown from a foxhole in Anzio, Italy.


He woke up to a German soldier standing over him saying “For you the war is over”. The war may have been over for him, but the fighting for his life certainly wasn’t. Hear him tell his story:
